The Eastern Goldfields YMCA offers an extensive range of
youth programs which have been specifically designed for Goldfields Youth.

The youth programs mainly focus on transitioning phases and lifestyle development,
while working to assist youth in gaining valuable life skills such as: peer
mentoring, reducing isolation, team building, self-confidence, peer
relationships; guidance, positive body image, confidence building, employable skills and
The EGYMCA’s ‘Brighter Futures’ program has been created
to assist in the development of these protective factors in youth currently in
year 10 who are disengaged from the education system, and often the
community, as well as to equip participants with the personal development and
employable skills essential to improving one’s health, wellbeing, lifestyle, and
ability to access employment options.
Participants also undertake a formal qualification during this program to assist in their tranistion into other activities outside of school (training or employment).
The EGYMCA’s Building HOPE (Health, Opportunity,
Participation, and Education) program has been run very successfully over the
last three years, with strong success rates of participants obtaining employment
or undertaking further studies upon completion. This is an intensive training program for individuals needing assistance to reach their goals following personal barriers.

Battle of the best is an ongoing program that is
assisting youth in Kalgoorlie to make healthy and active lifestyle choices
through activities such as indoor rock climbing, sporting challenges, movie
nights, fitness activities and cooking activities.
The program builds leadership and life skills, decreases
social isolation and creates community interaction and engagement.
Battle of the best is free to participants aged between
